The Rector prof. Dobromir Dimitrov greeted the newly-admitted international students with the words:
Dear new students,
Choosing the right place to study is one of the most important steps in a person’s life. As newly-admitted medical students you are embarking on a significant period of transition in your life, in which you will be challenged intellectually, enriched academically and rewarded, both personally and professionally. One wise thought says: “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.”
Since 6th February our academic community share the pain, suffering and losses of Turkey and Syria after the devastating earthquake. Because part of our community are many Turkish and Syrian students, graduates, partners and colleagues. We have joined the campaign of the Bulgarian Red Cross for raising funds in support of the suffering people from the destructive earthquake.
So, once again, welcome to our academic community with members from all over the world united by their desire to learn and discover, to create and make a difference! I want to share with you our motto NON SIBI SED OMNIBUS – NOT FOR ONESELF BUT FOR ALL, which will guide you along the way.
Welcome to the start of an exciting journey together. We are very happy and honored to have you here as our students and friends – welcome to Medical University – Pleven!
